This was launched in 1994.
Initially it was sold in Kyushu region only as a trial.
After that, it won popularity in the university co-op. In 2008 it became known as Kohei Uchimura’s favorite snack, and it became famous nationwide. Kohei Uchimura is the the silver medalist in the all-around competition at the Beijing Olympics.
(I learned about this snack because of Kohei Uchimura, too.)
Its annual sales exceeding 100 million pieces. And it is now very popular in Taiwan.
The size is about half of an adult’s palm.
It’s made out of cocoa-crunch covered in chocolate.
The combination of crispy crunch and melt-in-your-mouth chocolate is irresistible.
The size and price are perfect, and it is filling :)
